Friend or Foe

So here we are, Christmas is over and New Years has been written into the books. We figured that this would be just a quick update of randomness.

Below is a photo of Andrea's Uncle Bob. He is obviously the real life inspiration of the Simpsons News Anchor Kent Brockman...

This is what our camera remembers from New Years... Apparently,?? we sang Auld Sang Lang to a Scottish Piper this year??? And Karen, that jarble mess of an international call was Andrea trying to say was "hello, I miss you Mom" when she called you at 9:30 AM on New Years Eve (4:30 AM New Years Day for us).

New Years Day was spent at the local horse track in Hastings, a mere 15 minute drive from Napier. I won a whole giant heap of nothing, while Andi cashed in on $7.50 NZD. We felt like high rollers. Actually it was pretty sweet. You could bring in your own cooler (and beer) and sit out on the grass in front of the grandstand. We had a picnic, bet on the races and drank beer all afternoon. Great way to spend a day!

This is a short video clip of Simon the Seagull. He likes to drop in on the Patio once and while and see whats up. The cat (Bindy) just about got a paw on Simon the other day. Classic example of cat vs. bird.
